Newsletter Issue 26
A Message from The Headteacher
This is the last newsletter of an unusual and eventful spring term. I do want to thank all of the staff here for their hard work, flexibility and willingness to put in extra time and energy so that the children got the best offer we could make. Thank you of course to all of you who supported the children in accessing their learning so effectively and I'd also like to acknowledge the children's brilliant efforts too. I am really hoping that we don't have to do it again, although I'm not 100 per cent certain that we won't!
We've welcomed several new children and families to our school this term. When I show prospective parents around the school I'm always very proud that I can say with confidence that parents are a real strength of the school, with a supportive and inclusive viewpoint. I hope our new families are experiencing this and, once again, thank you to all our volunteers, whether classroom based or through Friends of Hollickwood or our school Governors.
It is a time of celebration, many families celebrated the New Year last week, Nowruz Mubarak, this weekend sees the Passover celebrations and Easter will be celebrated the following week. It's an important time of year for all, whether with or without religion. I hope you all have a very happy time.
In school, we're looking forward to Summer term and getting our classrooms looking fabulous again as we haven't had much opportunity to work on displays this term as most teachers haven't been in their classrooms, everyone is looking forward to putting this right. There is so much planned for next term but of course there remains uncertainty about will be possible, fingers crossed!
Rapid testing at home - I hope you have all taken up the offer so that you can test yourself at home - note this is for adults only - this will reduce the risk of transmission in our community considerably. The rapid tests, or Lateral Flow tests as they are also called, are for people who are asymptomatic, anyone with symptoms, adult or child, should take a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test and isolate along with their household until the result confirms a negative result. Of course if any test returns a positive result then isolation for the whole household must start, including a rapid test, where a PCR must then be taken.

Have a lovely break!
