A Message from The Headteacher
I hope you are all keeping well and warm as the North wind makes an unwelcome return! I'm sure you are all looking forward to Monday as we celebrate International Women's Day by fully opening the school!
With the return to full opening on Monday, please make sure you are familiar with the different timings that affect Nursery (8:30 to 11:30 and 12:10 to 15:10) and Reception (8:45 to 15:15). All other year groups are as usual - 8:50 to 15:20. Also Nursery, Reception and year 1 are the only children who should come onto the site through the main gate on Sydney Road, all other year groups should come in through the car park gates.
Similarly, at the end of the day when collecting children from their classrooms, please wear a face covering while on site. Staff really appreciate your support in making school as safe as we can.
Some of our staff have been told to stay at home to shield until next term. Ms.Constantinou is one of them so Mr. Smith will be teaching the class each day while Ms.Constantinou supports with planning and assessment remotely.
Staff are testing themselves twice a week using the Lateral Flow Tests that we have been provided with. It has recently be announced that parents can order tests to use at home with their children. While not 100% accurate (a positive is 98% accurate while a negative could only be 50% accurate), these tests give another layer of protection against the in-school transmission that we are all guarding against. Here is a link that can be used to order these https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the children here next week, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday!
