A Message from The Headteacher
Hello everyone, I hope you are all well and buoyed by the increasing number of people who have had the first dose of vaccine and the prospect of a hair cut! While I'm really happy that we can open to all children from Monday the 8th, I'm very aware that there remains a considerable risk from the virus. Most of us have not received a dose of the vaccine and rates of transmission are much higher than they were at the start of the Autumn term. We have reviewed the measures in place and made a few changes, those that impact on you directly are:
- start times - we are adjusting start times as follows - Nursery 8:30am, Reception 8:45am, all other year groups 8:50am
- entrances - Nursery, Reception and Year 1 will use the main gate on Sydney Road, all other year groups will come in through the car park gates on Sydney Road - this is to make more space and reduce the squeeze at the main gates
- no parents on site in the mornings please, unless you need to speak to someone at the office, in which case it's one person at a time.
- please wear a face mask at all times when on the school site, including outside the buildings
Just to reiterate, please follow the guidance and do not send your child into school if he or she or anyone in the household is displaying any symptoms that could be related to Covid - high temperature, new and persistent cough, loss of taste or smell - get them tested and isolate as required.
We'll be back to the full provision from the 8th, including Breakfast Club from 7:30am and After School Club until 6:00pm. Please book in the usual way.
Next week we are celebrating World Book Day with a series of off screen activities that Mrs. Neal is coordinating and the week beginning Monday 8th March, when all the children return to school, we're holding 'Maths and English week' with lots of cross-disciplinary activities planned.
On Friday the 19th March we'll be joining in with the fundraising event 'Comic Relief' by having a non-uniform day and school collection. This is entirely optional, children can wear red on the day and make a small donation if they want to.
Thank you for your continued support.
