A Message from The Headteacher

It's the last day of the school year, a time for reflection as well as celebration. There is a huge amount to celebrate, once again the children have shown their resilience by coping with difficult circumstances and maintaining a focus on their learning. There has been a lot of truly outstanding work over the school year, so well done to all of them.

We wish our year 6 the very best of everything as they leave us and head to their new schools, they really a lovely bunch of young people and I think their new schools are very lucky to have them. Thank you too, to all of their parents and carers who have been the most supportive and engaged group over the years. To both the children and the adults, we will miss you all and you are always welcome at Hollickwood!

We say goodbye to two members of staff today and one colleague has already left. Maryam Najand worked here as a Reading Support Partner and also helped individuals and groups in the classroom, Darren Smith has worked here as a Teaching Assistant and is looking to become a qualified teacher in the near future (he will be a very good one!), unfortunately he is relocating so his first teaching role will not be at Hollickwood, and Zaineb Shah - our Learning Mentor - is leaving us to take up a role in a school in Islington. We will miss them and will struggle to fill their roles so effectively. Thank you from all of us!

Thank you to all of the staff team. They go above and beyond as their default and they are a dedicated and hardworking group of professionals. I'm sure you will echo my sentiment that we are lucky to have such a great bunch of people working here.

Lastly, I hope you all have a wonderful few weeks of summer and I hope you are able to enjoy some time with your children, and reflect back on all the great work they have done and the great progress they have made over the past 12 months.

Thank you for support, keep safe and see those of you returning on Thursday 2nd September.

Hugh Vivian
