Welcome back

A very Happy New Year to you all! Firstly, we would like to extend a warm welcome back to you all and hope that you all enjoyed the holidays and that everyone is looking forward to the Spring Term ahead.

The children have all settled back into their school routines very quickly and have been very well behaved. We look forward to your continued support throughout 2020 and hope that we can all look forward to a very happy and healthy year working together.

Hollickwood Young Gardeners January 2020

It is another New Year beginning in our garden, the spring bulbs we planted last Autumn in the plot and stage area, are poking their noses out to welcome the Spring. We have several varieties of Tulipa and Narcissus, Grape Hyacinths and Crocuses, the 600 from Bulbs4Kids plus, many stored from last year, so we hope for a really grand show.

…………………

Speaking of ‘Shows’ our school has been invited to apply to exhibit at the R.H.S. Hampton Court Flower Show 2020!!! We will be asking for ‘Pallets’ and other materials to construct our exhibit, starting next week. We will endeavour to fulfil our commitment to taking 20 gardening pupils from year 2 – 6 with us on ‘Press Day’ If you remember last year we saw the Duchess of Cambridge!

…………………

Also we aim to exhibit at Muswell Hill Horticultural show again this Spring, so keep an eye out for dates and solo exhibits.

Bulbs4Kids:

This year we will be entering for ‘The Golden Bulb’ competition, The 600 bulbs supplied ‘FREE’ by Bulbs4Kids, Have been planted in the pattern of their logo, it was a very big ask for the children, but they rallied and managed to complete it in just over 2 days!!

…………………

Very many children come together in the garden at lunch times, Even in the Autumn and Winter to tend and manage our garden. If you feel you wish to join us please do, it can be wet, messy But we strive to make it EDUCATIONAL and FUN!!!
