Visit To The British Library
Yesterday, Year 4 went to the British Library to see the Buddhism Exhibition and had an exciting workshop, linked to this wonderful display of Buddhist artefacts.
In a warm, red room, with birdsong and Buddhist chanting in the background, the children explored the life of the Buddha. The brilliantly led workshop had all children fully engrossed in their learning.
We had to choose a Buddha statue to draw; look for a variety of Buddhist, beautifully decorated books and find out what materials they were made from and even sit in a 'Wheel of Life' circle and figure out which realms of life would be more preferable to be in.
The staff at the British Library were so impressed with our children's knowledge and behaviour- well done Year 4! If you can, do go and see this excellent exhibition!
Fire Brigade Visit
On Thursday, Year 2 had a visit from the fire brigade. Finchley Fire Station came to talk to the children about fire safety and to let the children have a look at, and learn about fire engines. This was part of their project on The Great Fire of London and a DT project about fire engines.
