An end of year message from the Headteacher

Another year done. So many highlights, so many outstanding pieces of work and wonderful experiences in all areas of the curriculum.

The children have been wonderful, they continue to keep the Hollickwood Code - respect, taking care and trying your best - and apply it to their work and interactions with each other and with adults. Anyone who spends anytime in our school is always struck by how lovely they are. They are our greatest asset, thanks to you lovely parents!

Right behind them are our wonderful staff. I’m sure you appreciate how hardworking and committed they are. I’d like to thank all of them for their dedication and the way they put the children first and support each other so effectively.

No school is ever perfect, and we are all determined to keep improving and adapting to new demands and circumstances. We’ve shared with you just how challenging the financial situation is for our school. I’ve been working in schools for almost 30 years and this is the worst I have ever known it. However we are undaunted. We are certain we can maintain our momentum and continue to provide an education and experience that is the best it can be.

You, of course, are central to that. I hope all of you have a great break, remember to support the children with reading, and online activities so that they hit the learning ground running in September! Finally, good luck and goodbye to all our leavers, stay in touch!

Year 3 Trip to Kidzania

Year 3 attended Kidzania and had an amazing time. They have all decided on what five jobs they will be doing in the future!

Hollickwood Canteen Relocation

Over the past few months we have been working on relocating the kitchen facilities to the main hall. All appliances are going to be moved during the Summer holidays and from 3rd September all lunches will be served in the main hall. This is a temporary solution with lunches still being cooked off site but it will be a good practice for us get used to sharing the dining hall with the sports hall in the future.

Gardening in Schools Scheme

We are pleased to announce that we have joined the Gardening in Schools Scheme which enables us to get 20% back on what our parents spend at Alexandra Palace Garden Centre.
Please hand in any Alexandra Palace Garden Centre till receipts (not credit card receipts or gift voucher receipts) to Apsra in the office so we can take advantage of this fabulous scheme.
