Year 6 School Trip

Isle of Wight – Britain’s own island in the sun

The Isle of Wight can best be described as Britain’s Own “sunshine island” with temperatures and sunshine not only amongst the best to be found in the UK but often warmer than places such as Corfu.
So our lucky Year 6 students who have been at the Isle of Wight this week have had a fantastic time. They have enjoyed some great weather and have done lots of fun activities which I am sure they will share with their Parents/Carers when they come back today.

Year 5 Visit

Year 5 Visit to Wahaca Mexican Restaurant in Kentish Town

Year 5 kick-started their Mexico Topic with a visit to Wahaca in Kentish Town. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves to sample the wonderful Mexican cuisine. The staff could not have been more engaging and fun if they tried!
Splitting into two groups, the children set to work! Both groups made guacamole and mocktails, using vital ingredients that are very important in the Mexican culture. For guacamole , each child received a small tray that held: an avocado ; lime; coriander ; finely chopped onion and a pinch of sea salt. Listening carefully to the instructions, each child made a delicious Mexican dip!
The mocktails were made from mint, lime, crushed ice, apple juice and a sugar solution....... they were told ‘ 3 drops’ ..... it was pretty obvious afterwards who decided 3 needed to be multiplied by 10!
Each child received nachos so that they could fully enjoy their creations!
What wasn’t devoured came back to school - so that family members could sample the next generation of ‘ Master Chefs’ dishes!
A thoroughly enjoyable morning was had by all- thank you Wahaca!

New Academic Year 2019/2020

Please Click Here for new academic year dates.

In preparation of the new academic year , we think it's time we refreshed our class names. In the past we've had plants and authors and this time we're going with 'inspirational people' past or present. If you have any ideas then please share them with your child, who can then share them with the class. Thank you!

Friends of Hollickwood

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Hollickwood school,

There is only 4 weeks to go before the Summer Fair! Save the date, Saturday 6th of July between 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Please join us at our next meeting, taking place on Saturday the 8th of June, at 10 a.m. at the Costa Coffee in Tesco Colney Hatch Lane.

We would also like to remind you that we need items/products that are in a good condition and preferably in their original boxes. They will be used for our hampers, tombola and raffle prizes. The better the quality of prizes the more money we can raise for the school.

Clothes pegs and empty jars are required too. Please donate what you can. If you have any ideas - connections - acquaintances with local businesses that could help us by donating prizes for our raffle, please ask them to help.

Please contact your children’s teacher, or class rep or me (Anna Dalla, Theodore’s, year 4 and Alexandro’s, year 1 mum) if you have any ideas or are willing to help.

Yours sincerely
