Trophy Triumph for Young Hollickwood Gardeners!
Last Thursday, 11th October, some of our green-fingered, young gardeners represented the school at the 2018 Barnet Schools, Young Gardeners Awards Ceremony held at Sunnyfields Primary School, Hendon.
To their delight and surprise, the school won two prizes, the Rosie Connelly Trophy for ‘Most Enthusiastic Young Gardeners’ and ‘Best Display’. The trophy, prizes of vouchers totaling £50 and various gardening accessories, bulbs and seeds were presented by the Mayor of Barnet, Reuben Thompstone.
For helping them to achieve this success, the children would like to say a special thank you to all the adults who voluntarily give up time on Fridays to share their passion for gardening and impart lifelong knowledge and skills.

Our first match of the season resulted in a 3– 1 loss to Coppetts Wood School. It would have been 3-2 had it not been for the referee not spotting a hole in the net which resulted in a disallowed goal. Our boys gave it their best efforts and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We played our first match of the season here on Tuesday against Martin Primary School.
Although we lost the game 11-3, the team played well against a well-organised opponent. Well done everyone!
