Key Stage 2 SATs

KS2 SATs have now been completed. All children have worked very hard and did their best this week. Well done! Thank you to all parents and families for your support.


Keelan Phillips

On Thursday afternoon we will be receiving our Big Pedal Prize. Pro freestyle BMX rider Keelan Phillips is visiting Hollickwood for a stunt show! He will perform for all children from Reception to Year 6. We cannot wait to see his amazing skills in action!

Walk to School

Week It has been fantastic to see all the children walking, scooting and cycling to school this week! We are proud to announce that we have increased our healthy modes of transport significantly since last year. Miss O’Brien is currently working on tallying up the totals and will announce the winning class in assembly next week. Remember the winning class receives a movie treat afternoon.


Hollickwood’s Got Talent

Hollickwood’s Got Talent is back on Thursday 15th June. If your child would like to enter please complete the attached form and hand to the office on Monday 15th May. 


Back Gate

Just a reminder the back gate will be locked at 3.30pm every day. Thank you.


Late Fees—After School Club

Late fees will be charged to all parents/carers who collect their children late from After School Club.

Nursery Class Café

Thank you to everyone who made/bought cakes at the Café on Thurs-day we managed to raise £101.50.

Quiz Night

The quiz night has been rearranged to Friday 19th May from 7pm.
Tickets can be bought at the school office £5 per person. Bring a dish to share. We hope to see you there.

SATS week

Wishing all Year 6 children the best of luck in SATS next week.


Fundraising - Film Night

We will be holding a film night on Tuesday 9th May to raise money to-wards trips/ workshops in the future. We will be showing ‘The Lion King’ in Year 1 from 3.30pm—5pm. We only have 50 spaces available to tickets will be based on a first come first served basis. Tickets can be bought from the School Office at £2 per child and this covers the film, popcorn and a drink. (Reception to Year 6)





On Monday 8 children from Year 2 went to play a football competition with other local schools at The Comp-ton Powerleague. They had lots of fun and showed great sportsmanship . We look forward to hearing how Year 3 get on next week.

Big Pedal UK

We are very proud to announce that Hollickwood came 12th in the whole country for cycling and scooting to school and 1st in Barnet . Fantastic news, well done everyone. Information will follow regarding the prize.

Back gate - Stanley Road

After a review of security we have de-cided that the gate entry to the site in Stanley Road, will be closed at 3.30pm every day. I realise that this will be an inconvenience to parents who are pick-ing up children from after school activi-ties, but we must put the safety of the children first.


Highgate Woods

Nursery and Reception had a fantastic trip to Highgate Woods on Thursday. The sun


Geo Bus

The children had an amazing time on Monday and Tuesday taking part in lots of experiments. Some of the children made volcanoes, experienced earthquakes and some found a fossil of a shark!


Red Nose Day

Nursery and Reception danced to the Red Nose Day official song, Put a nose on it....

Nursery went around the school and 'Put a Red Nose on it', we started with Mr Vivian's computer!

The challenge runs from 20th—31st March and we would love everyone to be involved. The children will need to cycle /scoot to school to earn points.

Our best 5 days in the challenge will deter-mine our final position. We will be com-peting against other schools across the UK and if we clock up the most bike and scoot-er points we will win!

Year 3 Trip to the Science Museum

Year 3 had fun at the Science Museum on Tuesday. The children watched a science show called ‘Feel the Force’ and the class will be learning more about forces in the following weeks.
