Parent and Carer Meeting

On Monday 16th October at 6.30pm we are holding a meeting for all parents and carers.
This will be an information sharing session, as we want to tell you about our plans
for the school, including further improving teaching and learning as well as the site
itself. Governors and Senior leaders will be presenting plans and explaining them, and
there will an opportunity for you to ask questions. There will be a crèche for children.
The meeting will last about an hour. Hope to see all of you then.

We are really pleased with our Ofsted report following the recent inspection. It's very
satisfying that the inspection team were able to see many of the strengths of our
school, such as the work to promote personal development and welfare, which they
judged to be outstanding. It's gratifying for staff to have their hard work recognised,
and to have affirmation that the work is having a positive impact on the children's outcomes.
The children also deserve a lot of credit, as they consistently impress visitors
with their positive attitude to learning and the tolerance and kindness towards each
other. We are not complacent and are already working on the improvement points
listed in the report. We should, however, take a moment to celebrate this milestone
and to take pride in our school and the wonderful children who attend it. Thank you all
for your support.

Maths Morning

Tuesday 10th October at 9.00am –10.00am All classes are taking part in a maths

We welcome you to take part. Please do advise the class teacher if you which to attend

Friends of Hollickwood

Now that the Ofsted hurdle has been passed, lets focus on what we love about our
school and we can enhance the strengths of our community. Friends of Hollickwood
is the school PTA ( Parent-Teacher Association) where anyone who cares for a child
at our school can contribute in some way.

We would be very please to hear from as many parents & carers as possible:

What would make you more likely to join in on more PTA/school activities?
How can communication between parents & school be improved?
Most importantly, let’s celebrate all the things which we value about our community.
Like the fact that the school has a fantastic staff, management & governors–
whose great work has now been officially recognised by the Ofsted inspection.

You can get in touch via email, Facebook or speak to one of the Class Reps
for example at the next Class Café—on the 20th October. There will be Cake!

Gardening Club Friday 9.00-11.00 please come along and support.

As you know, the school was inspected by Ofsted this week. Two inspectors spent two days with us; they observed lots of lessons, looked at the children's work and chatted with them, talked to staff and governors, spent time with school leaders examining their plans and discussing the process and systems we use in school, and got your views - both through 'Parent View' and by chatting with you in the playground. Senior Leaders and staff have received initial feedback and the report is being
