Ditch the Stabilisers

Well done to all the children who took part in Ditch the Stabilisers last Friday. We are proud to announce that Ollie managed to ride unaided for the first time. Well done Ollie!

 

Bike Club KS2

Our Bike It Officer Arthur will be running an after school bike club on Thursday’s starting Thursday 9th March. There are only 6 places available and we will run it on a first come first served basis. All biking abilities are welcome but riders must had a basic knowledge of riding a bike and access to their own bicycle and helmet. The club will run for 4 weeks between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. Please inform the School Office if your child is interested in joining the club.

 

Science Week Monday 13th—Friday 17th March

On Tuesday 14th March a Science Dome will be put up in the hall. The Dome is wonderful opportunity to experience Space. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 will be able to participate and a donation of £2 would be appreciated. On Wednesday 15th March 3.20pm— 4.30pm we are holding a Science Fair in the hall. All children are welcome to join in with science activities run by the Science Club.

 

Thursday 16th March

Year 1 and 2 will be participating in a meditation and mindfulness workshop. We are requesting a £2 donation to cover the cost. As part of their Religious Education unit on Buddhism, Year 4 are being visited by a local Buddhist for a workshop. We are requesting a £4 donations to cover the cost.

Congratulations to the whole school for last weeks attendance 96.17%. Keep up the good work!

 

Wild Garden

A big thank you to everyone who came to help tidy the Wild Garden last Saturday. Over 40 parents, kids and staff came, which was brilliant and meant we got lots done! We will launch the garden with a party in April but just need one more working day. We would really appreciate you help again on Saturday 11th March 1-4pm so we can complete all the work. Thank you in advance.

 

Quiz Night

Come and join us for a fun night out on Friday 24th March from 7pm. Tickets can be bought at the school office from Wednesday 1st March. £5 per person. Bring a dish to share. We hope to see you there.

Thank You

A big thank you to Children’s Books Store,in Islington, for donating lots of new books to the school. The shop sells brand new books for a £1 each, its definitely worth a visit.

JTA Poster comp

The Junior Travel Ambassadors need your help! Please design a poster, for the up and coming Big Pedal event, promoting cycling to school.  The posters should be A4 size, bright and colourful! The winning poster will be on display throughout the school and our website.  Entries to be in by Friday 3rd March and handed to the School Office. We look forward to seeing your designs.

Police Station in Reception

Reception children have been learning about People Who Help Us, especial-ly the role of policemen. They have been pretending to be the officers and worked hard on keeping everyone safe. We are all looking forward to meeting a real police officer on Monday and we have been writing down to ask them questions.

 

Babies in Nursery

Nursery children have been very busy bathing baby dolls. They are wondering if a parent would like to come to visit them and bath a real baby in the

 

Year 2 Animal Visit

Year Two have been learning all about the basic needs of animals. Last Thursday, Miss Stone's Yorkshire Terrier, Betsy, came to visit the children to help them with their learning. Then on Friday the excitement continued when they were visited by Dash, Mrs Johnston's tortoise.

 

Year 1 Trip to St Peter Le Poer

Year 1 were model students on our visit to St Peter Le Poer church last week. We were all very proud of how well they behaved. Well done!

Year 3 Cycling

Year 3 had a great time completing their bike ability training this week. We are proud to announce that  3 children learnt to ride a bike for the very first time.  Over half the class have achieved Level 1 training and can now cycle safely.
