Year 1 - have had a very exciting week this week. They have received a text message from ‘The wild thing’ from the book they are working from “ Where the wild things are” by Maurice Sendak This has inspired some fantastic pieces of writing and has captured the children’s imagination.

Parent Access to School buildings and teacher meetings.

We hope you will agree that Hollickwood is an open and welcoming school. To ensure the safety and well being of your children we kindly ask that you refrain from entering the school buildings and classrooms without being invited. All visitors to the school are asked to sign in at the office and if intending to stay on the school premises will be given Visitor badges to help identify them. If you are on the premises and not seen to be wearing a Visitor badge please under-stand you will be challenged as to why. If you do wish to speak with your child’s class teacher or any member of the Support staff please can you make an appointment to do so, as trying to “grab a chat “ before the day starts can often lead to disruption for the whole class. We appreciate your co operation.

Lunches: We appreciate your patience with the full hot lunch availability - we have sent out an update letter today with information re the new arrangements. Please do continue to book your dinners on line through School money.

Football News

This time of year in the football season can be a frustrating one for our players, as matches are postponed due to waterlogged pitches or bust school staff, but our boys team managed to get a fixture played this week. We welcomed St. John's school here and although we lost the match 7-2, the game was a lot closer than the scoreline might suggest. Well done and bad luck to the teams, who played the match in a good spirit, with Hollickwood working out how much better they play when they all work together and play as a team!
